2. Barometer YDBC-05

 The Barometer is intended for measuring atmospheric pressure within the range from 300 to 1100 hPa (mbar). The sensor is located inside the device case. Many chartplotters and digital navigation instruments are able to display data on pressure in the form of graphs or show a trend indicator; this allows tracking of trends in the weather change. The Device dimensions, including the connector, are 54x20x20mm, the mass is only 11 grams, so it is suitable for racing yachts.
Pressure data output resolution to a NMEA 2000 Version 3 network is 0.01 hPa (mbar), absolute measurement accuracy is ±1 hPa, relative measurement accuracy is ±0.12 hPa.

3. Thermometer YDTC-13

 The Thermometer performs measurements within the range from -55 to +125°C (-67..+257°F), the sensor is placed outside the case on a flexible, 95cm wire in a sealed stainless steel sleeve and can be used to measure the temperature of gases or liquids. If necessary, the wire can be elongated up to 100 meters. The Thermometer can be configured by the user to display data as "Air temperature", "Sea temperature", "Temperature in the refrigerator", "Temperature in the engine room", "Bait Well Temperature", etc.
Temperature data output resolution to a NMEA 2000 network is 0.01°C, absolute measurement accuracy is ±0.5°C.

CAN Log Viewer

CAN Log Viewer software is a free viewer, player and converter of CAN (Controller Area Network) logs. It can play your CAN recordings on a PC screen in real time and highlight changing data.

CAN logs contain network level data and compatible with any high level protocol, including J1939 and NMEA 2000. This simple tool will help you:

  • analyze unknown CAN protocols (see Manual for a real example);

  • convert log files to a spreadsheet and text formats for future processing;

  • convert data prepared in a spreadsheet file for playing on a physical CAN network by Voyage Recorder;

  • convert CAN logs with NMEA 2000 data to the format of YDVR Converter software (.DAT file).

This product was designed as a supporting tool for various hardware products of our company, but all data formats are open (see the Manual) and data conversion to and from CSV (Comma Separated Values) is supported.

The following hardware and software products support .CAN format:

CAN Log Viewer runs on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Software package also contains the test data with recording of the popular Volvo XC90 crossover. This product is a freeware and you may distribute it in unmodified form without any special permission.

Engine Gateway YDEG-04

NMEA Bridge YDNB-07

Gateway for Volvo Penta, BRP Rotax and J1939 engines to NMEA 2000 marine electronics network. It will provide you with engine revolutions, motor hours, coolant temperature, battery voltage, warning and alarms, fuel rate and other data on the screen of your chart plotter.

 On most vessels with Volvo Penta engines, all that you need is to plug the device into an empty socket of the NMEA 2000 network backbone and connect the engine cable to a Multilink hub or, using the built-in Y-connector on the engine cable, to connect it in series with any of the tachometers.

 Adaptor cable or pin change is required only for EVC-A and EVC-MC engines manufactured in 2003-2006. Factory settings are suitable for most of vessels with one or two engines. In case of two or more engines, one device is enough if they are joined to a single network.

To connect the Gateway to J1939 engines you may need to purchase or make an adaptor cable.

 The BRP Rotax connector is the same as the 6-pin Deutsch connector used in the Device, but the wiring is different. To physically connect the Device to the BRP CAN network, you should use an adaptor cable purchased separately or you can disassemble the Device's connector and change the pin order. See the video kindly provided by one of our customers, with a description of Device installation on a Scarab 215HO Jet Boat with two Rotax 1503 4-tec Engines.

Text Display YDTD-20

 Instrument display for NMEA 2000 networks. It shows the vessel's position, course and speed, wind and weather data, water depth, log and trip distance, engine revolutions, batteries voltage, etc. With other firmware, you can monitor up to four engines and transmissions, temperature in the exhaust system, the vessel's trim tabs, four batteries, four diesel and four gasoline tanks and three fresh water and three black water tanks.

 Our Display is a practical choice as an additional instrument display, mounted in a cabin or near a chart table. You will not be able to configure wind or depth sensors from our Display, but you will get the same readings as you would on displays that cost four times more.

Reasons to buy:

  • duplicate or replace broken instruments;

  • in combination with a wifi-enabled chart plotter, you'll be able to monitor your engine from any cabin;

  • log engine and fuel usage by crew or renters if a recording device like Voyage Recorderis outfitted;

  • record your engine data to apply for service remotely.

Data you may get on the chart plotter depends on the engine controller and number of installed sensors. Legacy chart plotters may not support display of all data types.

Yacht Devices NMEA Bridge unifies two physical NMEA 2000 networks into a single logical network, smoothly exchanging messages between them. The Device also supports filtering and processing of transmitted messages.

This can accomplish the following tasks:

  • Bypass the physical limits of NMEA 2000 networks concerning length of networks (100 meters for regular cable and 250 meters for heavy or mid-type cable) and concerning the maximum number (50) of physical devices attached to the network. On a network with address capacity of 252, multiple bridges can be engaged to expand to around 250 physical devices.

  • Isolate devices from each other. Using the simple filter, you can block transmission of all or of selected messages from a given device in a separate subnet.

  • Ensure proper functioning of equipment. Correct the transducer offset of the depth sounder, or "delete" invalid data in messages from equipment that is only partially operational using a 2- or 3-line script.

  • Ensure compatibility of equipment from different generations. You can create and send any type of NMEA 2000 message using data from other messages in the network.

  • Diagnose malfunctions in the NMEA 2000 network. The Device can record network messages and debug data from custom programs on a MicroSD card in a text file. You can view the data in a standard text editor on a smartphone or tablet with a MicroSD slot, there is no need for a computer. You can even create and edit programs for the Device right on your phone!

  • Safely connect devices that do not meet NMEA 2000 standards. One of the CAN-interfaces on the device has high-voltage galvanic isolation and can operate at a higher supply voltage.

  • Create gateways for networks based on CAN protocol operating at a speed of 250 kbps. The programming language of the device is not designed for full-fledged applications, but one can create, for example, a gateway from a J1939 network to NMEA 2000.
